This website is managed by the Aomori Michinoku Interpreter Guide Association (AMIGA).
We are a group of 60 professional tour guides, licensed by the Government of Japan. Our members live not only in Aomori, but in other parts of Tohoku and Hokkaido. Most of us are licensed in English, and some members are licensed in Chinese, Spanish, French and Korean.
The areas we cover:
We mainly cover Aomori Prefecture as we are based in Aomori Prefecture. In addition, we work in the neighboring prefectures in “Tohoku” or northern Japan such as Akita, Iwate, Miyagi, Yamagata and Fukushima. We also work in Hokkaido, especially in Hakodate which is connected with Aomori in about one hour by riding the underwater bullet train.
