On July 27, 2021, Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Northern Japan (17 sites) were added to World Cultural Heritage List. Eight of those sites are located in Aomori Prefecture. If you want to know about Jomon, read here.
This tour includes one of those world heritage sites, Futatsumori Site in Shichinohe Town.
Japanaese fermented foods originated in the Jomon Period. In this tour, you can make local traditional fermented food called Godo using soy beans and Okara-miso paste in a private house of the instructor in Towada City and will have lunch prepared by her. After lunch, you will visit Futatsumori Jomon Site in Shichinohe Town.

Meet at JR Shichinohe-Towada Station or Towada Art Center area.

Visit Mrs. Shoko Yabe who talks about fermented food cultures and teaches how to make local fermented food called Godo and Okara Miso. Enjoy lunch prepared by Mrs. Yabe. You can taste fresh local vegetables!
